Non-working Bose Subwoofer (split from Re: Bose AV28 System)

Our OEM Bose AV28 5.1 system is being replaced. 

If you want it the non-working sub ...


There is a fuse inside the woofer, that is most likely blown. Changed tons' of them. It is tricky to get open. I believe it is 2 or 3 amp glass fuse

Mine blew a number of times I finally mounted a fuse on the outside of the sub.

I briefly checked for a way inside the subwoofer.  It appears to be as impenetrable as the obelisk in "2001 A Space Odyssey".  Probably there's a YouTube video on it though.  I'll check it out.

My memory may be off but, I believe you gain access through the plate that the jacks are attached to.

I went and checked it today. The head unit were the jacks are located will pry off were it meets the main case. I could see were I damaged the particle board housing when I pried the two apart.

I promise you, that you can get into it. There is something that slides. It isn't that hard. It does look daunting, but really isn't that bad. Sorry it's been a few years, but I did maybe 15 of them.
