Where is 15 amp aux compressor fuse?

1998 U-320 36 ft.

Where is the "in-line" fuse for the 12 volt aux compressor that everyone keeps talking about?

Below is a photo of our aux compressor unit.  I have not been able to find the in-line fuse on the exposed wires before the 12 volt wires enter the plastic loom.  I've followed the plastic loom until it disappears into he body of the coach and still haven't found a fuse.

Is this fuse tucked in that impossible to reach space between the converter/inverter (white box behind the aux compressor) and the compressor?

Thank you,
Chris

I believe your coach is like ours you only have a breaker no in line fuse.

Ah, that would explain it's absence.  So, one of the many auto-reset breakers tucked away in either the driver side bay wall (behind fiberglass panel) or behind the panel above the stairs at the front of the coach.

I was checking the wiring schematics and didn't see a fuse, breaker, or pump listed anywhere.

You are looking in the wrong place behind the kick panel in front of the passengers seat.. That breaker is in the basement behind the fiberglass shield. IIRC it is the 3rd breaker from the top on the right side of the 2 rows of breakers. This isn't an auto reset you have to push the little reset button.  You will need a flashlight and bifocals to see the little button.

It should be on your B-2126 print.

This is from Mike's memory as he is blind till his other cataract surgery this week. Any other time he would look it up for you.

Thank you!!!  I'm going to label that fiberglass panel in the bay with "See Drawing B-2126" because I was in there today and didn't know what drawing to tie it all back to.

You all are good.  Drawing B-2126 shows it is the 3rd breaker down on the right side.  Mike's memory is rock solid.

B-2126 lists the compressor as being under the entry step.  Since our compressor isn't in that location I thought this drawing was showing a breaker configuration for a U-270 or U-295.

Best wishes to Mike on his surgery.

The simple solution is to crimp in a male/female spade connector on the easily accessible "hot" wire to the compressor - basically a poor mans switch - just pull apart to stop, put together to start current.

I think you will find that the black connector in your picture contains a fuse.

Craneman and Rich,

Black connector:  That was the first thing I opened, and there is no fuse.

This black connector is shown on page 10 of the HWH Series 600 Operator's Manual.  It runs to the control box.  Inside the connector: one side is a socket, and the other side is a needle that inserts into the socket.

Appears to be a fancy locking plug.  Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about connectors will weigh in.

Tim,

That's not a bad idea.
