That switch is a 10a or 15a circuit breaker.

Correct, and I'm told that it can become faulty over the years and may just need to be replaced.  Maybe this is the cause of the OP's issue.  Just a thought.  Thanks.

Yes. We were unable to get the genny serviced on the road. Everyone was a week or a month behind. However when we got home I took it to a local tech immediately. There's no place like home! Later that day he called and said it was a bad regulator. A new one is $300. No word on the labor but I am guessing couple shop hours.

It will turn out to be an expensive little trip: genny regulator, windshield wipers stopped returning to position, dash AC not working (apparently still leaking freon). Ahhhhh the joys of MH ownership. I used to think hotels were expensive. How foolish I was. OTOH the memories we are collecting with my 86 YO father and 88 YO uncle ain't measured in $.
