fuel tank vent question

Does anyone know if there is a check valve/float valve in the galvanized (fuel tank) air vent?
I gather that on our coach the air pressure balance line between the two tanks & the galvanized whickerbill air vent (with the  hose that goes to the bulkhead)  share the same tank opening,

If you are talking about the galvanized vent valve shown in your 2nd picture.  Yes it has a float valve inside. If you take it off and shake it you should hear it rattle.

How can it have a float in it if his is horizontal and mine is vertical. Same galvanized fitting.

That is a rollover valve, in case the coach is upside down the fuel will not run out. I would think that it should not be laying on its side, of course it should still vent unless it is turned upside down.

Saddlesore,
Do you have 2 separate fuel tanks? And is that why you have a tee, where I just have the galvanized fitting sitting vertical?

I would say that the rollover valve should be mounted vertical rather than horizontal.
