Windshield replacement

My windshield glass claim is finally moving along with Progressive. Both windshields were damaged on our way through Atlanta on the last trip. I told the claims rep we would likely be needing to replace the gasket as it's either original or over 11 years old. They refer out to Duncan Systems who I guess is based out of Elkhart assuming I googled correctly... Anyone have experience with them? Supposedly they will offer me a list of approved installers. I may just use Creative Coach down in Lakeland, although it is a 'fur piece' from Oviedo...

You will want them to install Windshields made by Guardian Glass. That is the Oem supplier. Lots of Topics using search feature. Key word Duncan Systems and also Guardian windshields

We had a windshield replaced by Duncan years ago- it is still in our coach now.  Before we had our Foretravel we had Creative Coach do collision repairs on our SOB- was very happy with the work.  Hope this helps Dave.

Duncan did ours last year. They sent the wrong gasket, but the two guys that installed the windshield said the one that was on was still in good shape so they were able to use it. No leaks.

We have never changed front windshield rubber gasket, but have heard that changing the gasket can lead to new 'problems'.  Maybe the replacement is not exact enough fit? We would prefer to leave the original gasket and replace glass.

Dave, We just had one of our front windshields replaced by Creative Coach in Lakeland. They did a great job. They also did some cosmetic work and removed polyglow. Lastly they did some collision repair to fix my boo boo from when I was new to driving the coach. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and I like these guys a lot. It was a long drive for us too but worth it.

My insurance company called Duncan to have one of my windshields replaced by a mobile unit two years ago.  This glass is labeled Duncan, not Guardian, but is an exact match, including the shading at the top.  No problems whatsoever.

I have one that was broken on the road in Montana. Since I'm in Alaska, I'll not bother with it till I get home, may end up with 2, I'll just take it to FT. Also got one broken on the Jeep !

We recently replaced our passenger side thru Guardian glass windshield replacement service.  Went slick and got a years membership in FMCA to boot. Highly recommend.

RV Glass Tech in Zephyrhills FL did a fabulous job installing Guardian glass in under 2 hours. Very professional. Did NOT have to replace the gasket which they felt was OEM based on the Vircon glass and the opaque lamination. 22 years - onward!

Just be aware that FT will require you to pay for the replacement and you get reimbursed by your insurance company.

Is this true of any of the other companies mentioned?

Mine too.  They had to negotiate with FT-they felt FT's price was too high.

Foretravel replaced my windshield on 6/20/2017. I was told my windshield would be the last one they replaced through an insurance company. Apparently Foretravel is having trouble being reimbursed & basically tired of arguing with and waiting for the adjusters to return their calls. The coach owner will be responsible for paying Foretravel for the windshield and the coach owner will have to get reimbursed by the insurance company.
