Entrance / stairway 2 way florurescent light in my 1995 U300

Walked out past my coach yesterday and found my center florescent light on ! This is a 2 way light operated from the pilot light equipped switch on the l/s of the steps or from r/h switch above the sink. The green pilot light is not on.  Operating either switch makes no difference. Shutting off the salesman's switch will shut off the light. Have gone thru the electrical schematics in my manual without finding anything relating to this circuit.  My recollection is that when operating normally you can hear a relay changing state when switching the light on or off.  Does anyone know where this relay is located ?  or have a schematic ?

Thanks,

Jon ::)  ::)

Howdy Jon,
On our model/year of coach the relay is located behind a removable panel in the small (short) kitchen cabinet above the microwave. This removable panel is on the end towards rear of coach. The panel also has the receptacle for the microwave.
I believe the feed for the light is either ckt 11 or 12 in the 12vdc panel on end of bed.

Hi Jon,
When our '95's switch failed, it turned out to be that relay—located right where Dave and Chuck aimed you, near the microwave in that short cabinet.

The part (a VW light relay?) was identified on the Forum and I bought two. Let me know if you need one. That 2-way is a handy light to have.

Thanks for the reply's but, unfortunately I'm still in trouble. My coach is a 1995 U300 Unihome with a center door configuration. I was not successful in finding anything behind the panel above the microwave as suggested - just the power supply cable.  I was able to find a Bosch relay beneath the Gaggenau cooktop, it was integrated with the 3 switch panel just below the cooktop that controls the following:

1. Instant hot water heater - removed 8 years ago and wires terminated.
2. 12 vdc domestic water pump ( another two way switch set-up with 2nd switch in bathroom )
3. Propane hot water heater

Still have not been able to find an electrical schematic for this circuit. Have been thru my coach manual 3 times with no joy.  The dual tube flourescent, just aft of the entry door in the center of the ceiling, is a 12 vdc fixture and is controlled, normally, by a momentary contact rocker switch on the left side of the entry stairs or by a similar rocker switch above the sink.  Currently neither of these switches has any effect - regardless of the position of the salesman's switch.

Currently the only way to turn this light off is by using the salesman's switch on the r/s of the entrance steps.

John...I recall seeing some relays in bedroom above the top drawer in behind the old Panasonic "nook" (95 U300)

I have similar problem with my hall and bath fixtures they do not turn on and I hear lots of relays clicking in that area.

Let us know if you find it..

Found it  :-)  -  One of the 2 way light switches is located above the left side of the sink ( drivers side) on my coach.  There's a small cabinet with tambour doors above the sink and inside that cabinet, on the left side, was a plastic shield protecting the wiring to the switches. Also located under that shield was the latching relay for the center flourscent fixture.  The markings on my relay indicated that it was made in Hungary and I couldn't get any kind of cross reference to the Hungary part number.  Some internet & forum research turned up 2 options, 1st being a VW relay pn: 111-941-583 and the 2nd being a SMP LR-35.  Will know in a day or two if that solves the problem.

Thanks to all for the suggestions :-)

While your in there, make sure the wires are attached to the latching relay and not broken. If the relay makes a clicking noise when you flip a switch it is probably still good. Had this happen to us.
