1998 U270 copilot chair refuses to lift the foot rest

First what brand copilot chair do I have in a 1998 U270(flex steel)?
All of the controls operate except the foot rest. It travelled up then stopped before going 3"; and refused to go up or down. Is it repairable or not.
All recommendations are appreciated to include how to repair links.

On ours, the foot rest used a separate connector to supply power to the foot rest motor. The footrest power connector is connected on ours by some crimps to the main power wire. You might check to see if it hasn't come loose. They can get in a bind sometimes when rotating the chair and get pulled out enough to lose contact.

John,
Our 99 U270 has Villa seats. we have a problem with the footrest not working sometimes and it turned out to be the power cord plug under the seat. Sometimes when you swivel the chair it pulls on that cord, and the plug will pull apart enough to make it not work.

Hope that helps.

John, I assume the motor is running?  And not unplugged?  Have power, motor failed?  hope that not what you come to.  As I recall when ours quit there is a screw sort of mechanism that moves the rest and that thing failed.

Must be desirable chair though, fellow wanted to buy ours.  Good thing he did not offer too much or my DW would have moved over to drive and I be sitting on a 5 gal bucket!

I have power to chair as all the other controls work. If I toogle the lift switch back and forth you can hear the motor running for a instant.
What would be a source for parts and diagrams.

On my 2001 U320,  the nylon gear ruptured.  Replacement required disconnection of the seat, but otherwise fairly painless.  Hope the photos here will help.

Fiddler, glad you had photos....I did not.  I do not think this limited to the 01s, as it seems that likely what John has wrong.....but it does not seem a common problem, at least I not heard of this often

thanks for photos

John,
Takes a picture of your chair from different angles.  This way we can see what you have. I have Villa in my coach.  I had a broken cable and they were able to send me a replacement.

When I use the left hand controls to move the chair rearward the chair makes a jerking movement to the rear.

When I first got my 95 the footrest did not work. I disconnect every connection under the seat I sprayed contact cleaner and reconnected and reconnected each connection several times. Every thing works and I have had zero problems. My chair is a flexsteel.
