How to remove celiling light frame

How do I remove these light frames?  I just finished replacing all the engine and gen fuel hose, and have started my solar project.  For months, I've been trying to remove these to no avail.  Any help is appreciated.

Just go to one end and pull it down. After you get it off, you will see how to reattach it.

It's held on with a clip on each end.  Just work your finger between the ceiling and the wood on either side and pull down.

We have replaced our old plastic catches many times.  They seem to break on their own.

This year we started using new metal catches that are likely never going to break like the white plastic ones.

By the way, just pull down very hard on the outer edge of one end of the wood frame.

The problem I have is keeping them up, at least the at the front part of the kitchen. (The one closer to the refrigerator has never fallen.) When I go over a rough road, it has fallen. So far, it has not done any damage (to itself or others), but I would like to keep it from falling. One side has one catch, and the other has two. I think it is moving enough to lose its grip over big bumps.
 
Do others have this problem?
 
Would squeezing the metal prongs closer together help?

My light has three catches along each side.  No chance of the deflector falling if the catches are intact.

Just squeeze the metal clamp a little to close the opening of the clamp.  It will hold better.

BTW, the new metal roller catches seem to have a stronger grip.  We never had a cover fall with original white plastic clips.  Our problem was the white plastic would crack, and the break would still hold the cover, but show its face when we next took off cover.
