Fuel tank filler door

No help using  subject title in search. Any advise reattaching this door.  The material around filler opening appears to be plastic... Looks to be a doable job if this material can be removed.

This  "material" is the plastic thingy that the surround that actually holds the filler neck is riveted t.o. The  plastic that the door is pined to is held to the side wall with about ten screws, eight of which look to hold it to the wall and two that looks as tho they might hold something on the back side of said plastic. Looking for advise before I start tearing in to it.  Doesn't appear to be enough room to work in a new hinge pin after door is in place...

Jim I went out and looked at my broken fuel door tonight in the rain. no plastic thingy around neck, but the bottom hinge pin on original one appears to be held in place by gravity and can travel upwards for door removal. Have pin if you need it. New fuel door assembly the bottom pin appears spring loaded so door can be removed once the whole assembly is removed to gain access to the back side to slide pin up. New assembly was about 35-40 bucks from Amazon if I recall correctly. Made in the USA, and much better quality so the plastic door is more warp resistant.

If you can't find the OE replacement, here is an option-- would involve what this guy did and as aluminum plate larger than the old opening in the side wall:

Thanks, Brett. I still have the old door and may be able to repin it. Going to try to not have to remove the screws because the filler neck surround is riveted in...was surprised to see the hinge pin is plastic and is not a thru pin, just a molded tit on the rest of the door(top & bottom)ld have to drill hole in bottom area to run pin thru...top has hole there, don't know how it was pinned.
