Thinlight 12''cover

Does anyone have a source or a old 12'' thinlight fluorescent light cover they want to sell?
Mine broke on my over sink fixture.

(See photo) Is this the style light you have?  If so, I gave all my old light fixtures to Kenhat and Kent Speers at the last Q.  They might have some spare covers?  If they don't see this thread, send 'em a PM...they're both Good Guys and very friendly.

I'm going to sound like a lazy slob, but on a couple of our fixtures that are on 12 hrs. a day and eat bulbs, I leave the covers off, those plastic clip-ons are a pain!  ^.^d

I have stick on LED strips in the fixture and the cover evens out the indirect light. The stickem  on the LED's seems to let loose after awhile and the cover keeps them from falling down until i have time to reattach.

Stump, I had the same problem of the strips coming loose. Apparently the 3M adhesive lets go when it gets very warm up near the ceiling. I put a few "dabs" of (what else?) SHOE GOO on the LED strips on the ends. It seems the heavier ends where the connections are made are too heavy for the 3M. A piece of tape holding the LED strip in place until the Shoe Goo sets works great. I just balled up a piece of tinfoil and put it between the LED strip and the lens cover for about 8 hours, then removed it.

For all the ceiling lights we installed VERY BRIGHT Starlight T8-18 LED bulbs that have end pins that mount in the original F15T8 florescent sockets.  We have four LED bulb tubes in each ceiling for lots of light when needed.

For the several ceiling light fixtures that had original U-shaped florescent bulbs, we removed original bulb & fixtures.  And then held new Starlight LED bulbs in place with light-weight cable ties looped through eye screws into fixture roof.

We decided we liked the softer look of original F15T8 cool white florescent bulbs in several under counter fixtures, so they are still regular florescent.  To counter the expensive replacement costs of these florescents, we bought a bunch of F15T8/CW on Amazon from 1000 Bulbs for $1.15 each.

No.  I think they are talking about the "stock" adhesive on the back of the LED strip lights.  In some cases, it claims to be "3M" brand, but is in fact a inferior product.  When using the strip lights in areas that will get hot, it is best to add some additional adhesive strength, as you did with the genuine 3M double-sided tape in your link.  I don't think you will have any problem with your strips falling down.

Getting back to the original question...NOBODY has a spare unused 12" Thin-Lite cover they could give to Stump?

I do...I didn't read the thread but it's the cover over the kitchen sink light?? I just bought a new fixture to replace the existing...cover is fine and would be willing to give it up..

Thanks for the offer, Mike.  Check the top of this thread (Reply #1) for a photo of the type lights being discussed.  Your coach is much newer, so probably had a different type/style OEM kitchen light.
