Re: New Thermostat for furnces. Reply #20 – November 10, 2017, 09:17:51 am Just wondering. Our S&B programmable thermostat allows us to have the fan running constantly at low speed. Quiet and yet prevents stratification of hot air up high and cold air on the floor. In fact, it was the furnace installer who recommended we do run the fan for comfort.I currently have a very small ceramic heater running in our coach and situated on the floor just before the "hump" in our GV. I also have a 4-1/2" fan up near the ceiling running full time. Currently 3 degrees (above zero thankfully) and it is fairly comfortable in the coach--front to rear. Quote Selected
Re: New Thermostat for furnces. Reply #21 – November 10, 2017, 09:31:21 am Simply stated;A heat anticipator is an electrical resistor device mounted in the center of many mechanical thermostats. It fine tunes the point at which the thermostat turns off the furnace burners. Quote Selected
Re: New Thermostat for furnces. Reply #22 – November 10, 2017, 09:36:19 am I would think anything that keeps the air moving inside the coach would certainly help the heaters maintain a more constant temperature. No matter where you place a (single) thermostat, it can only sense the air temp in it's immediate vicinity. If that air temp is not representative of the overall temp in the coach, then "hot" and "cold" regions will be inevitable. Sounds like using one or more fans, spaced strategically around the coach, to keep the aired stirred up would be a great idea...as long as the additional fan noise doesn't become bothersome. Good thing on the "above zero" comment. Quote Selected

Re: New Thermostat for furnces. Reply #26 – November 10, 2017, 11:52:24 am Home furnaces have the flame come on first and after reaching a set point the fan comes on.Both designs continue the fan after the flame shuts off till cooler.Foretravel used to be designed as being capable of dry camping as most rv parks now around were not there 30 plus years ago.Running the noisy furnace fans definitely consumes DC plus propane. If I owned a non aquahot coach I would install an espar diesel airtronics rv heater below the floor.Instant heat. Below floor. Quieter. Programmable. Less fuel used. No foggy windows. Longer run times. Uses diesel.Your oem system is still there. Would take a hole in the floor for the air outlet but some coaches already have a hole to heat the compartments I think.Much better tech. Quote Selected

I've never heard of them, but I guess that's cuz I'm not a Trucker.ESPAR Air Heaters – AirtronicLots of videos online explaining how they work, and showing examples of installation. Sounds like a little jet engine coming up to speed. At first glance, installing one in a coach doesn't seem too daunting. I bet Don could do one in a couple days! Quote Selected
Re: New Thermostat for furnces. Reply #28 – November 10, 2017, 01:52:38 pm wow the espar hydronic 16 (54,630 btuh) could provide all the coach heat with quite hydronics. Its amazing that its CARB compliant.Hmm, we just built a new building for our local dealer. They also have a 20,500 btuh rooftop a/c unit that runs on 12vdc (brochure numbers are wrong at 47 amps ).
