Bad stove idea

I was checking on why my Kool o matic which worked prior to the trip home no longer worked. Took the indoor cover of and 28 years of gunk fell on the stove. Got out my vacuum and sucked off the stove. BAD IDEA, because it made enough draft to extinguish the pilot light which does not appear to have a thermocouple. Is there some type of thermal valve on the pilot light? Since propane is heavier than air I am sure there must be an accumulation in the burner holder pan. Could not smell propane. Any suggested action. Vented coach. And pulled it off power.

The pillot light is not enough gas to be dangerous. Just cut the gas valve on and re-light it.  Don't cut the burners on without the pilot going or some type of igniter. They could flash if excessive gas is collecting.

OPP,

On some stoves that vintage had a pilot flame valve, our '92 was this way.  Remove the burner grates and raise the top.  You should be able to see a valve in the front right corner that you can close if you have one.  Doing this will save propane but the down side is you will have to light the burners with a match.

The valve is in the center of ours (1993 U300), so it may vary a bit, but most likely there is one somewhere. We always keep ours off because we don't use the stove all that much.

Yep that's pretty much what the FD told me. Air it out for an hour or two. And there is a manual valve, and the pilot is match lit each time I use it. Burner grates rise with top unless clips are released from below. Mending from burns is no fun. Don't use a 4" grinder on welds with a flannel shirt on while underneath a vehicle

Ours is in the center also.
Tested when we picked up Alice, then turned off.  Never turned it back on, long nose lighters work for me.
I did learn NOT to lean on the stove as my posterior had a habit of turning on the gas, if you know what I mean.  No, no!  The LP gas!
