2000 U320 Dash Heater Blower Replacement Part# 26-19904

FYI, this is a direct replacement for the 3-speed SGM heater core dual blower assembly in the dash.  Omega 26-19904.  Foretravel wanted $300. SGM was no help given their own part number, apparently they don't keep good records.  I checked all the measurements and this one will be a direct bolt in.  My heatercore was caked in dust/fiber.  Found that my motor was full of junk too and I tried to disassemble/clean and ended up dropping the motor and breaking the magnets.  Whoops.

I have a motor with the blower wheels still attached. I replaced my blower assembly due the cracking in the housing but the motor works just fine. PM me if interested, you can have it for shipping cost.

Thanks for the share.  I've had some issues, mostly due to some hesitation when going into high speed, so I'm not sure if it is a switch/connection problem or the motor.  If I hadn't just invested a fortune in NAC a couple of weeks ago, I'd send off for one.

Hopefully, some one who knows how to post this to the Beamalarm  resource site will do so.

Wow, thanks for the offer.  I have a longs list of items to work on over the upcoming holiday weekend and already have one of these on the way.  Much appreciated, cheers!

Well, I doubt it has as much to do with the fan as it does with what is obstructing the airflow over your heat exchangers.  I have multiple reasons that I dug into my dash, one being I had suspicions that the heat exchangers could use a cleaning of the fins.  My suspicions were confirmed upon disassembly.

Photos of disassembled dash & the aqua-hot dash heat exchanger.  This is the first to get air.  The engine heat and A/C heat exchangers are downstream of this piece, so this was blocking airflow through everything.  I expect to have great results for both heating and cooling from the dash after reassembly, along with some of the other modifications I plan on making to the system, which will be left for another thread.

When you took that dash apart, you really went for it; I am impressed!

How did you remove the center section in front of the dash? I have looked at that many times, but it just gives me the evil eye.

Thanks,

Are you asking about the bump-out at the top of the steps?

I believe there are two screw on the right hand side vertically that were screwed in forward through the vertical steel post dash structure accessed through the removed AC vents.  I think there were two along the bottom toe that screwed into the floor, accessed after you remove the board that holds the Audit system computer, battery monitor for generator auto start, and smart steering wheel brain.  One on the left hand side that was going onto the aluminum dash structure and I think one going forward into the steel dash frame.  Six total from what I recall.  You have to remove all ducting to see the screws.

I can drag it out of storage this weekend and get some photos and real answers.

This story looks like the rust behind the coolant tank issue. If there is no filter on the system we all might have some restriction on that coil.

I'm not sure I follow the rust behind the coolant tank comment?  I found no rust during my disassembly or cleaning process.

There is an intake duct that pulls fresh air from an intake through floor, basically from the cavity in front of the generator fan compartment and the front fiberglass face of the unit.  There was a screen to keep rodents out, but no filter.  This duct has a door on it that actuates based on your selection of fresh or recirc air on the Blend selector for the dash HVAC controls. As you commented, I suspect all units this age with any use to have some kind of build-up/restriction at this heater coil.  I see no need to have a fresh air intake for this system so I am blocking off the floor penetration & re-arranging the heatercore and AC coil locations to eliminate the bump in the dash for a much cleaner and easier entry into the space.  If I need fresh air driving down the road, I'll open a window.

I knew the dirty coil/fins would be an issue on my unit because all of my other Aqua-hot heater coils throughout the coach had similar buildup of 16 years of nastiness on them.  Now all coils have been properly flushed & fins cleaned.

This is the issue I was referring to.
