Refrigerator drain hose

I went to install my cooling Warehouse refrigerator fans. Per their suggestion I tried to run the wires down the drain hose. The wire pushed the drain hose off the fitting where it connects to the refrigerator. Does anybody know if this is a special type of tubing or can I just buy some vinyl tubing from the hardware store. The 12 year old tubing is pretty yellow and stiff. I am hoping that I can just shove the new vinyl tubing through the hole in the refrigerator and down to the pan. Has anybody had to do this? Another 15-minute job turning into a day's work?

It's just vinyl, but you may want to tape the new tubing to the old piece to pull the new one through and not get it hung up.

Thanks for the suggestion T-man, the tubing's too far back in the hole to get anything taped on to it. I tried some 20 lb fishing line, but it just wanted to curl up, I will tie some small weights on the fishing line to in the morning and give it another go. I will use the fishing line to snake the new tubing in hopefully. I went to the hardware store this morning pre coffee, to get some other stuff and forgot to buy the tubing. With my memory I need a shopping list app.

The original tubing has a drain cap or has a pinched off end. This allows a small amount of water to remain in the drain tube to prevent warm air from coming back into the fridge and also keeps unwanted Critters out.

Phred,
"Phishing" a wire through a conduit or tubing is easy when one uses a vacuum to pull a leader through.  Have used it on more than one coach refer drain tube and have also used it in commercial applications up to several hundred yards of length.

For the refer drain, use a household vacuum to pull a small bead with attached monofilament through the drain tube. That equals "easy" whereas trying to physically push a wire or trying to push an object (with attached leader) through a conduit or tube with pressurized air equals "FRUSTRATION", by comparison.

So I finally got the fishing line thru, there was a kink in the hose that would not pass the egg sinker. Tied the line off to back feed the new hose assembly which has been softening in hot water with a new ss steel twisted safety wire "hose clamps"  on the tube to prevent it from ever coming off again. Ready to rock n roll and starering thru my reading glasses I cut the wrong end of the monofilament line. Exempletive s loudly expressed.

6 hours later success, will post picture Monday. Picture will show 11 ounce drain resivouir, that once full it will, and has caused some water damage. Another fix required.

Hmm, now where to connect the 12 v wires, any suggestions?
Would have been way easier to hook up and faster to the refrigerator light, I think now.

ARP tommorow??? If a can figure out the wiring???

You could re-engineer it a bit by moving the hose to the bottom vent and leave it up inside, outta sight.
