1993 U280 windshield replacement

We have owned our motor home since 1999 and just had to replace a cracked windshield for the first time and have run into a problem with the new ones fitting properly.  We have been trying to get our installer to fix the problem for a couple of months and aren't getting anywhere with him.  He ordered the glass from Coach Glass and not Guardian and he replaced the gasket.  When looking at the front of the coach it looks like the cap of the coach is not symmetrical from center line. It appears that the drivers side of the cap is shorter from the center to the side where it turns back towards the outside wall of the coach.  We are trying to find out if this has been a problem with the 1993 Grand Villas.
Has anyone heard of this problem causing the replacement glass to not fit properly?

Mary and Steve,

I see you have been Forum members since 2004?  You must not spend much time here, or you would have heard of this problem.  Unfortunately, having problems with the front structure of the GV models is not uncommon.  There has been a lot of discussion on this topic over the years.  I pulled up a few threads to get you started on the path to understanding the problem, and the solution.  That's the good news - there is a solution.  Read through these threads, and then see what you can find using the "search" function in the upper right corner of the screen.

I have a 1993 U225 and replaced the driver's side windshield a couple years ago. The replacement was a perfect fit and was the same color (tint) as the cracked one.
