Norcold 1210 door gasket

Four door 7 year old Norcold and the door gasket on the lower right door is a bit torn. Local repair says there is no gasket kit and have to replace the whole door for $702 including shipping tax installation blah blah. Anyone have any experience or suggestions?

Larry,

You might give Leon a call, or any other place that does RV refrigeration.

A number of the 1210's have been replaced so someone may have the gasket you need.

Also, look at the profile of it and try to match it up generically.  Another thought is to obtain a
long enough piece of an original that it can be spliced in using super glue on each end.

Good luck.

Hi Mike,

Jus some ideas..  As a temporary repair, have you considered a silicone repair of the torn part? - Waxtex paper and a little time might be of help. Sure beats the big bucks you report.
Also you could put something behind the whole gasket to make it protrude out enough to seal sufficiently. Try pulling a dollar-bill trick to see how much friction your feel pulling it out along the seal when the door is closed.
