Propane Fridge at Elevation

Just installed a new Dometic 2862 which was a direct replacement for our original unit.  Paperwork said that propane fridge isn't effective over 5500 feet in elevation?  We'll be spending a lot of time out West this summer and certainly plan to camp over 5500 feet a lot of time. What is the experience of the group?

Thanks

Been up, over, and around the Rockies several times and have not had a problem with elevation affecting the operation of our fridge.  Just make sure that your cooling system is up and running well,  there are a lot of long hard pulls that could be a problem if you're not ready for them.  Beautiful country out there!!  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Spent a lot of time at 7-9500 feet dry camping over the last couple of years,  no issues I know of.

THANKS ALL!

I was surprised when I read it in the paperwork and now we know.

Never have had any kind of a problem with the fridge at any altitude. The condenser has an easier time with the cooler air up at altitude. While the molecule spacing is further apart, they are lower in temperature so a good trade off.
