basement heat

I'll try to re ask my question from yesterday a little clearer.  Coach is 2003 u320 42 ft.  2 slides and rear closet.  So I got that zone 2 operates heat exchanger in basement.  Does that mean that if zone 2 is in furnace mode and dial in water manifold bay is set at 45 or 50,  it will turn on automatically when temp goes below what the dial in the bay indicates?  Does zone 2 in the upstairs turn on at the same time or do zone 2 and the basement exchanger operate independently?

On my '99 the heat exchangers are independent but the pump comes on when either are calling for heat.

Pump 2 supplies hot coolant in a single loop to zone 2 fan coil (bathroom) and basement zone fan coil.  So any time pump 2 runs both fan coils get hot.

Heating zone 2 thermostat (bathroom) operates the bathroom fan and pump 2.  Basement thermostat operates basement fan and pump 2.  Fan control is independent of each other.

Any time the burner runs, pump 2 runs acting as a stir pump for the big coolant tank.  No fans run but both fan coils get hot.

Hope this helps

I have a mystery for the basement heating that I need to find the time to figure out. If the basement thermostat turns on the basement heat exchanger fans it also turns on the bedroom fan. Why would the bedroom heat exchanger fan turn on when basement heat is called for. The bedroom fan runs as expected when triggered by zone 2 on the in coach thermostat. As I am writing this it occurs to me that maybe I should check to see if basement heat exchange fans run when bedroom is triggered by the coach thermostat. Maybe the two thermostats are in parallel.

Does anyone have any ideas about this fan behavior?

If the basement thermostat calls for heat the zone 2 pump comes on as does the power to the heat exchanger fans in both the basement and bathroom.  There is a diode in the power line to the basement fans that isolates the bathroom fan so that it does not come on when the basement fan is on.  I have a wiring diagram somewhere.  I will look for it.

Roger,
The bathroom heat does not come on when the basement heat is on, just the bedroom heat.  Ken

Ken go back to reply #2 that is how my '99 works, maybe another one of the different years or model issues

Here is the service manual.  Wiring diagram on page 76.  Thanks Rudy!

Ken, you may have something miswired.  Bedroom heat and pump are on zone 3.

Do you have a different AH model?

I would assume for the best backup scenario if one had limited power or gen run time the bay and bathroom heating would be the last stand.  Leaving off the bedroom and living room would probably allow the 1500 watt electric heater to prevent freezing down to probably zero
