Water pump switch

Took coach out of storage and turned on water pump at switch under sink. Will not turn off.  What gives??

Do you have more than one switch?  Could the relay be stuck?  Should be able to disconnect at the pump.  There may be an inline fuse, spade connector, or cut the hot lead and add one after fixing the problem.

If it won't turn off at a different switch, It's new relay time.  They all go bad after some time, and I've replaced switches and the relay at different times.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Momentary Switches for the water pump latching relay complete a path to ground which causes the relay to latch ot unlatch.  This provided power to the pump.  What turns the pump on or off is the pressure switch in the pump itself.  If the pump is on and does not turn off then the pump is not seeing pressure. 

Do you have water to pump?  Is you acumulator OK?  Are you pumping water out somewhere?

Either the VW latching relay is bad/corroded connections or the ground for the pump is corroded.

Check for voltage at the pump with the green light at the switch on. If you have voltage at the pump, check the pump ground. Ours was bad so I moved the ground location to the compartment switch ground location. With the green light on but no voltage at pump, it's the VW latching relay. Check voltage at the connections there. (our VW relay is on the opposite side of the coach).

I don't know if (don't think) Dan's coach has a VW relay.  His pump is running continuously

If the pump is on then power is coming through the latching relay to,the pump and the ground side of the pump is good. 
If the momentary contact switches do not turn off power to the pump then there is a fault in the grounding of the latching relay.
If the pump is running continuously then it has power but it sees no pressure increase to shut it off.

Dan,
The 2002 "stepping" relay (allows water pump momentary toggle "On/Off" from multiple locations) is located behind the fiberglass cover in the main storage bay. It is not the "VW relay.  It is light beige colored and looks like a small set of stairs.

You just took the coach out of storage -- right?  No one has asked, so I will.  Is your "fill" valve closed? If not closed, as you know I'm sure, the pump will just short cycle back to the fresh water tank if the fill valve is open.  Have you installed any hot water faucet "warm-up" loop(s) that might be hung up and short cycling back to the fresh water tank?
