Repair to Manabloc water line
While having the water heater replaced, I discovered a water leak just above the Manaboc cold water feed to the water heater. The transition to pex consists of four or five pieces of CPVC glued together. There are four of these assembles coming off the Manbloc. It appeared that the leak was between three glued pieces. The local pumping supply houses did not carry the first transition piece.
FOT parts confirmed that the existing CPVC transition piece was no longer available. The replacement brass part is P25134 which goes direct to pex. Using that part, I made my first ever pex repair. And it was successful! I am using the OEM assembly as a spare because I was able to add CPVC glue between two pieces to seal the leak. I have also assembled a second spare which is a little taller than the OEM assembly.
