Fuel Filter Stud (8.3 Cummins)

I was changing out the secondary fuel filter a couple of days ago. It seemed a little easier to spin off than I'm used to. Turned out the stud that screws into the block was loose. Might be something to check next time you change filters. You can tighten the stud up with an 8mm allen wrench.

I didn't know that it came off like that.  I had considered having a different stud made to allow the use of a more modern fuel filter that is larger and filters better.  Maybe I'll look back into it now.
