Generator Control Box Scarring

I've had this same problem on three rigs so it might be a good thing to check out on yours. The generator air cleaner assembly sags over time and begins to contact the top of the control box. It scars the top and if not addressed will eventually cut right through it.

I installed a bracket and spacer which fixed this problem. It's kinda hard to see but if you look closely at the two generator photos you'll see that the air cleaner assembly is farther from the box in the second which I took yesterday.

Same thing happened to my generator, bracket broke and air cleaner was just bouncing on the box.  Was like that when I bought it in 2008.  Made a new stronger bracket and no problem since.  Also the flex mounts for the radiator failed causing the fan tips to hit the shroud.  Radiator itself had a leak in 2008.  Local shop re cored the radiator and no problem since.

Another factor are the 4 rubber main mounts,I replaced mine this year and have not been on a trip yet but they were in bad shape, seems to have made a difference especially when starting and stopping, used the 2 best old ones to remount the radiator.
