Is your fill switch on?

I understand there should be a relay for this, but have no idea where it's located? I was gong to check there 1st. Any ideas?

It sounds like the check valve to keep the water from coming back out when the hose is unhooked and the pump is on has come apart and is restricting the flow into the coach. Does your coach have a pull out hose or does it have a fitting in the water bay where you screw the water hose in? Look there if the hose hooks into the fitting in the water bay but if the pull out hose then you will have to dig deeper to find the check valve.

The closing relay should be hid in the basement behind the fiberglass cover where some of your 12vdc breakers are located.  This is usually on the basement wall on the drivers side in the bay just in front of the service bay (the bay where you hook up your shore lines in).

now I need to find a schematic to locate the check valve, that sounds like it may be the problem.

IIRC your check  valve is in the nipple that connects your hose reel to the coach PEX. On some of the coaches with the reel I have found it in the PEX line behind the vanity cover that hides the sewer dump valves and related piping,

Is this a common item, (never heard of one in an RV) or something I need to purchase through FOT Parts Dept.

The last back flow check valve that I had to replace on a coach with a hose reel the check valve was just a 1/2" by 2" long brass nipple with a spring loaded check valve built inside of it. Be sure to remove ALL the water from the wet bay floor.  You don't want it migrating down into the rear bulkhead area!

I've had two backflow preventor valves "malfunction" in less than a year. This last time I pulled the insides out of the valve and put a brass manual shutoff  (like the ones sold in the garden department at a store)between the hose end and the now non functioning backflow preventor valve.
No more problems with water going out the fill connection and the pump running constantly until the tank runs dry and then the pump burning out.

Maybe I don't understand that one,. don't you need water in the system

A shutoff valve behind the panel?...What purpose would that serve, if it's shut no water gets in the coach...right?

I don't understand why a pump would be running on city water?
