Slide locking pins

Does anyone know if there is a way to manually get the locking pins to work on a 2002 Train Arm Slide?

John, are you trying to unlock the pins or lock them.  I am not sure there is a way to make it happen manually either way.

I'm lookin for away to lock manually, my sync for the slide went out. To get the slide in since it went out cocked I had to disconnect 8 hydraulic lines to get it pushed back in. I'm leery of trying to set the pins the proper way since the lines are empty. Not sure if I have to bleed the air out of the lines or what. I don't want to damage the pump. I'm sitting at a campground in Albuquerque now.

Can you manually tie it somehow with a strap to keep it from creeping out?  When our sync cylinder went out our room tried to go out top first but it came in normally so the pins went in.  Give James a call if you're a Motorcade member.

John -

I have a bit of experience with that slide mechanism and do not recall a way to slide the locking pins into the lock position.  Have you sent an email to HWH yet?  You might be able short a circuit in the HWH control boxes to activate the locking pins, but you would still need HWH.  You also might consider Hydraulic hose routing to activate the pins.  BFD

They might prioritize your request and get back to you in a couple of days.

Thanks for the replys everyone.  My main concern is damaging the pump since I have air in the hydraulic lines. I believe I should be able to hold the retract switch down and the locks should pop in place. I'll call Mr Triano in the am and get his thoughts.

I believe you can open the nut on the back side of the solenoid on the pump. look up the procedure of which ones to open.. run the pump to engage ( I believe this can be done but you have to use the pump to do that).

The pump as I have been told is self priming.. as long as you can build enough pressure to move the pins you should be ok..

No way of manually doing it unless you un hook the hose from the pump that activates the pins and put pressure to it.

I contacted foretravel for assistance, I disconnected the elec coupling to 1and 2 solenoid to eliminate fluid going to the sync valve. Tried to latch the locks automatically. I hit the retract on the switch and the slide started to come out. Disconnected all 8 hydronic lines to relieved pressure and pushed the slide back in. Reconnect lines again. Whent to put the wardrobe slide in, no problems there. It came in ok but......the front slide opened up 8 inches on the front and 4 inches on the back. Now I have to dicconnect the 8 lines again to relieve the pressure to push the slide in.
It doesn't matter if I hit retract or extend it always wants to go out. I feel like one of the 3 stooges. Probably Larry.
Do you think the bladder alone will keep the slide in?

I wouldn't trust the seal to keep it in.    I remember some 03's (seems like) with slide creep even though the seal was inflated.

I can say that I have driven without the locks being engaged. Its not like it will slide out and fall out. It might creep a little but I think you will be ok driving without it.. Just keep an eye on it while you are moving.

I found a solution to my problem to get me down the road till I can address my other problems. I never did get the slides to pin up but I cut 4 - 2x4s to length and drilled holes to let it set on the rollers of the slide behind the curtains. 1 board in each corner. There is no way for the slide to go in or out.

Made it to AJ, AZ safely. The slide stayed in place with no problems. Have a appointment with EastValley RV Specialist on Dec 17 to have the synchronized vale and the bladder to be replaced.
When I talked to the service rep he assured me they could do the job. He said they had a slide out of a Foretravel a few weeks ago so they are familiar with the process.
I will update as I go.

I had a problem few weeks ago slide started to come out crooked the problem was one of the hydraulic  solenoids on the powerpack was leaking by no way to stop the fluid from going to the designated solenoid And the one  leaking by at the same time you have to remove the nuts on all four of the Rams and cycle it back-and-forth in places you don't really need to remove any hydraulic hoses this is if you have a train system. I was able to remove the leaking solenoid and put it in positions for the unlocked so it kept unlock system open and was able to bring the wall in and out .to lock the wall I ended up changing that hydraulic solenoid into the lock solenoid and held the button until the pressure developed the locks set and turn the system off  Once the needle valve of the hydraulic valve fails there's no way for it to seal the hydraulic fluid from that circuit the solenoid valve coil could fail but there is a nut on the back  newer versions have a lever that you can open it but once the needle valve itself feels there's no way to stop it from leaking by

Fot and Mot think it's a sync valve but I think it may be a solenoid valve being bad also. The last time I put the slide in, manually. I went to put put the bedroom slide in, it went in nice like it always does but when I walked back up to the front the side slide went out about  8 inches on top and 4 on the bottom. The rear of the slide didn't move. This was after draining the hydraulic lines going to the sync valve. I will find out hopefully in a few weeks.

Also did you know that the dipstick on the hydraulic reservoir has a built in tool to loosen the nuts for the solenoid.
