Generator Leaking Fuel

I noticed fuel leaking from what Isuzu call an Injection Pump. See photo below.
I'm not sure if it is leaking along the edge where my arrows are pointing or dripping down from the "Injection Pipe" where the two larger nuts are stacked one above the other.  Isuzu 3LD1 engine.

Any advice
Thanks

Clean it really well and put a paper towel at each location and run it.

We have a PowerTech but the diesels are not that much different. You may have a bridge across the injection pipes above your photo. If you have one, you want to make sure it is never taken off. It damps harmonic vibrations that will cause a crack in the pipe right below the nut that tightens them down. You can also check the torque for the nut itself and also the one below. I remember Ken had a leak in his PowerTech that was below the larger nut below the pipe hold down nut. There is normally a flat copper washer under there that may allow a leak. If I don't have a new washer, I take the old one off and put it on a flat surface like granite or glass and using fine valve grinding compound, move it in a circular motion until any low spots/grooves are gone, repeating on both sides. This cured Ken's problem. I've seen diesels torn down because of a leak at this copper ring kept one cylinder from firing.

Here is an injection pump exploded view that will give you an idea of what lies below. You may have to subscribe to view them and get the parts number: INJECTION PUMP - EXCAVATOR Hitachi EX35U - EX35U ISUZU ENGINE (3LD1-PA40) |...

Copper washers should be annealed before reuse.
