Red marker/clearance lights

Finally got time and weather to cooperate, so I started in on changing the original red marker/clearance lights to LED. I happened to start on the navigator side, and found two wires, black and green. Quick check with the meter told me that the green was ground. Got that light installed and moved around the corner to the rear. One black and two green. The greens were attached to the same terminal. ???? I'm used to seeing the HOT daisy-chained that way, and once in a while BOTH, but just the ground?

Oh well, back to it.

Fiberglass body does not conduct ground.  much like a boat, need to run a ground wire. ^.^d

But only one hot wire per light. Interesting.

My 97 has a green ground wire for every circuit as far as I know.

Early coaches grounded to metal and if you turned in lights you could see other lights flicker

Got them finished this afternoon. Since only the first light I did has two ground wires, I'm guessing that it is the last one in the daisy chain. Tomorrow I'll be able to keep my feet on the ground as I tackle the driver's side tail lights. When we pulled into FOT in November the tail lights were working but the turn signal wasn't. When we pulled out everything was working, which is what I paid for. By the next stop none of those lights were working. I'm guessing that I'm going to find a plug unplugged.

Anyone know of a source of LED replacements for the dual filament side lights? They are approximately 2" tall x 2" deep x 6" long. I saw some on a coach at OTM, but wasn't able to find out anything more. I've been looking at the various auto parts stores as we drive around, but haven't found any yet. The truck stop where we got fuel didn't have any, either, but they didn't have much that wasn't edible.

"I'm guessing that I'm going to find a plug unplugged." Pretty much what I expected. I finally got the plug all the way disconnected, checked to make sure that I had voltage coming in, and reconnected it. All works as designed now.

Richard and stump, I'm going to order those after we get to Hobbs. I've had too many experiences with mail following us. Since we'll be there for eight weeks, there shouldn't be any problem then. Let the package people get all the Christmas stuff delivered. I can wait.
