Lucas Oil Hydraulic Oil Booster and Stop Leak

Does anyone have any experience with this product?

Claims:

"An additive for hydraulic systems that stops leaks and increases hydraulic pressure. Use in new units to stop initial wear and increase fluid life.

Lucas Hydraulic Oil Booster & Stop Leak was formulated to renew hydraulic fluid with an additive package that stops seal leaks, boosts pressure, reduces operating temperatures and increases the life of hoses, rams, and cylinders. It is an inexpensive solution to most hydraulic problems and a perfect preventative maintenance product."

Yep have it in my hyd system as we speak. It took care of some seeping seals. Sure can't hurt. Just be sure you drain off enough oil to allow for what you add.

Bought Lucas hub oil, for coach if it can do 30% of claims for seeps. I would be happy. Meets specs. Only a multi million mile fleet owner might be of a different opinion.

I put a quart in my hydraulic fan pump oil reservoir when I changed the oil and filters.  Thought it might slow down the seepage at the fan motors.  Can't really tell for sure if it helped, but didn't seem to hurt anything.

I have added a stop leak to my steering and hydraulic system reservoir to see if it would help the seepage around my cooling fan motor shaft.  It has all but stopped it.  there may be a drop now and then, but has made a big difference.  It was a "lucas" product, but I am not sure that it was the same as you mention.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Does not specify teflon on the bottle, think the teflon additives faded away when they realized teflon is a solid particle and does
not stick to the parts that mesh together and some of the better filters just caught the teflon.

Remember, all products that stop o ring leakage, do so by causing  the seal to swell.... in some cases, it does not stop, it's a good temporary fix, if you need to get it to a place to repair it.... or to sell it, if you're a touch " shady "... IMOP, not a product I would recommend... Stop leak is similar, the first thing it usually does is plug the heater core, because of the small diameter tubes used in a heater core..... In my opinion, these products are NOT preventative products... I have over 50 years repairing experience, and these are the results I have seen....

I don't know about " stopping heater cores up". Someone at  Foretravel told me they put Bars Leak it all new FT's to take care of any nuisance leaks. I also know GM did that for awhile as well. While I agree that at some point things will need to be addressed it can be a VERY long time before that needs to happen. Case in point had End tank leak in the radiator 7 years ago added stop leak no more issues. Changed and flushed the coolant 3 years ago still all good. I have cut the coolant filter apart, it traps the stop leak material but coolant still flows through the filter. That's why in the case of radiator stop leak they recommend shutting the filter off for a bit.

The worst thing I've seen thru the years plugging things up is too much silicone on the gasket.
