hello

We recently purchased a 1984 38' Diesel. I'm having a hard time finding windshield wiper parts and water pump rocker switches. Any info would be appreciated.

Welcome skbami to the Forum!

Because of the age of your coach, finding some parts will be challenging.  You will get proficient at doing Google searches online.

If you want a rocker switch that exactly matches the original one, the factory parts dept will probably be good place to check.

As to the wiper blades and parts, see if this thread gives you any helpful clues:

Welcome to the forum.  These older coaches are worth bringing back into good condition even if parts are hard to find.  The expertise from your forum buddies will always steer you right!

I replaced my wiper arms and blades with new ones I purchased from Foretravel a few years back.  I had also broken off one of the through the cowl washer nozzles with a brush.  I found some cheaper ones on Amazon with a metal barb that's fit perfect and should hold up better. Amazon.com: RV, Bus, Firetruck - Windshield Wiper Nozzle (thru the cowl):... It was easy change out on a Grand Villa with the access doors on the front. I was also able to easily lubricate the wiper arm mechanism which gets a little rusty. They work much better now.  Good luck with yours!

I took the picture with the phone inside the inside the front cowl access door opening.  You can see  the wiper motor and the mechanism attached to the wiper arm.  The washer tube is connected to the new through the cowl nozzle.

Jimmy,

It's just cracks in the old foam insulation.

I would dig into it a bit as it could also indicate that the glued seam for front stabilizing between the wood frame and front cap is giving way. Hope it is just the foam, but?

Thanks John I'll check it out.  Hopefully it's just due to age!

Mine looks the same, too. The PO had the engine compartment done, but spaced the nose AND the gen compartment!

Not sure what you mean Mike by spaced.
The other is sprayed on foam and what you took a picture of is sheet glued on as far as I can see. Two different things.

By 'spaced', I mean the PO knew the the nose & gen comp. needed re-doing, and never did!
