Gerard Awning - Opens/Closes on its own

Hi,

My Girard entry door awning (small awning) "Has a mind of its own" - Last week while parked at my house it extended and retracted on its own.

Yesterday the shop where I'm having maintenance done, called me and said the awning above the door came out on its own and they cannot get it to retract. They checked the remote control and remote panel above the entry and it will not respond - they said they were going to try and troubleshoot it - and I will pick it Wednesday and if they don't fix it, I will see what I need to do to get it to work again.

Has anybody had these issues before?

Does the small door awning work off 110 or 12V?
(because I know my inverter is turned off and they do not have the coach plugged in - so I'm a little confused on why it comes out and in on its own.)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I only have a large Girard awning and it requires 110.

my girard awnings are both 12v. never had either one move without being told to.  girard tech support can probably help.

Do not believe an entry door awning was standard equipment on Foretravels of your vintage. Might need to contact any previous owners.
