I'm assuming you're talking about the thermal protection switch on the compressor itself. If it was bad, wouldn't a faulty protector just keep the unit from starting or trying to start? A bad protector should just keep the control board from sending a call for cooling, right? The fact that the unit gets hot leads me to believe it is getting power and something internally is keeping it from operating properly. I will switch out the thermal switch between the two units and see if it changes things! Quote Selected
