Is my slide room toast?

After a few days of steady downpours, I started noticing a musty/moldy smell in my kitchen/slide area.  I scoured every nook and cranny and finally traced the source to the cabinets above the slideout windows.  Everything in there was mildewed and went in the trash.  Drying out the cabinets and went on a search for the moisture source.  Blew out the slide lock pin drain and checked the slide top for a cracking.  Found the lock pin area was sealed with factory butyl sealant and that was allowing water to seep in.  Pulled it all out and cleaned well, then filled with JBWeld Marine.

Question is, do you think the slide room is toast?  See pics for the rippled roof top of the slide.  Is that normal?  I will be heading to HWH in the fall for a new bladder...should I just go further south to Nac and add on slide reapair to instead???

Sad Woody.

I would send those pictures to Rance at XTreme in NAC. He is best at letting you know. 2000's had systemic delam in the slide due to adhesives used in manufacture. Slide repair at Xtreme is MOT comes to XTreme to help pull slide. Rance and friends fix slide. MOT installs slide (and in your case new bladder) when slide fixed.

Thanks Tim, great foresight.  I'll call Rance later this fall, but it looks like I'll most likely be heading to Nac in Nov, and saving my CB's now.

That looks like delamination. Your year and mine and all 99-01 slide years have it. They used the wrong mastic and it ate thru the foam insulation and this is the outcome. Do not change the bladder till your fix it or you could roll your bladder and require a new one.

The problem extends into at least some 2002 model year coaches.  My brother and I both had our slide delam repaired at Xtreme.
