HWH Slide hardware Cover?

My wife looked behind the driver seat and said she saw some plastic hanging out.  I pulled the curtain that hides the slide control hardware and saw this.  What does this cover?  Does it cover the hydraulic cylinder  on the outside wall or ?

That just wraps around the slide extend/retract cylinder to protect from getting oil on items that may touch it. My unit has them too. Doesn't affect operation.
