My 86 Model grand villa i had a very bad oil leak fr0m the left rear jack

Hi Guys  I had a problem with back left rear hyd.Jack, it was leaking a large amount of fluid I pulled it of and found that the o rings on the side were badly damaged I put new ring on but I got messed up with the way they go back together. one has a little hole all the way through with a funnel like end and the other is a blocked peace . My problem is where do they go on the unite as I got messed up pulling it apart.
By the way im in Australia we brought the beautiful villa and much love it. If you can tell me what I need to do would be much appreciated.
Cheers and thank you Graeme Mackay

Going to send you what I have for the HWH 400 Leveling system jack cylinder by email.
May not be the same but I believe that the o-ring that lets fluid return if it seeps by the o-ring goes in first.

Graeme,

Welcome to the Forum!  Glad to have you join our group.  Sorry you are having trouble with your hydraulic jacks.

I have air bags, so can't offer immediate help with your question.  We have other members with the same leveling system as your coach.  I am sure they will respond when they see your post.

We do have another member down under.  He has a 1989 Foretravel GV.  I believe he has leveling jacks.  I will put a link to his Forum profile page below.  Go to his page - under "Contact Info" there is a box where you can "send a personal message".  Click on that box, and send Brian a note.  He does almost all the mechanical work on his coach, and will no doubt offer you some support.

Hi Graeme,
Where are you in OZ, Im in Melbourne,
Welcome to the Forum,
My rear jacks started leaking oil, Like 5 litres on the ground, Its expensive,
I ended up with a barrel union and joined the two hoses together,
I was a long way from home, So I had to do the best I could on a Sunday,
I finally got new rubber seals for it, But just couldnt figure out how it went,
So its a permanent join now, I dont use the jacks any way, I just park it as level as I can,
Its a normal imperial size hydraulic fitting, Pirtec will have them on the shelf,

Dont say its American, They will go into melt down,  We dont have that stuff here, Etc Etc,
Not realising they do have it on the shelf,  Young people, Duhhhh,
Put your parts on the counter and say I want one of these,

Cheers, Brian,

Well that was handy.
Graeme lives about 10 miles from my place,
We just had a phone convo,  We have the same Coach, his has the 320 HP turbo, Only difference,
If he has problems with his jacks, I have a barrel union on the shelf  he can stick in his coach to get it RWC, Stop the leaking oil,
He is changing the rego from one state to another,
Be good to see another one of our grouse coachs close up,

Last Grand Villa I saw here, 86 model,  Came from Qld, 1000 miles north of me and I had to drive 250 miles north of where I live to see it,
But it was worth it,
Australia is almost as big as the USA,

Australia is almost as big as the USA.
We drink a lot of Snapple Peach tea around here (the real tea - not the sugarless crap).  I like to put a shot of HW peach flavored schnapps in mine.  But I digress...

Yesterday the fun fact on the underside of my Snapple lid said "Australia is wider than the moon".  Now THAT is something to think about...

2/3rds of OZ is desert, or semi arid desert, It would be like living in your Death Valley, Hahahahahaha
On the odd occasion when it rains out there, Its very beautifull as it is a carpet of flowers,
Its also very hot out there, No water, Some places, No petrol for 400 miles,
Its a great place to live here in OZ, But only on the coasts mainly,
