outside water faucet leak

Before we put water to the system we put air in to see if there are any leaks.
Air was coming out of the faucet and the cold water fitting at the outside faucet. He tried to replace the o ring but that didn't work.
Should I just get a new unit.
Has anyone had to replace theirs?

I assume we probably have the same faucet.  It uses a cartridge replacement that can be replaced.  Moen will send you one for free, or you can buy them online.  Lots of forum posts if you search for Moen.

Pressurising the system with air needs to have a regulator to keep the pressure below 55 psi. to avoid damage to the system.

Are you referring to the faucet in the wet bay and the fitting behind the panel that allows the PEX to attach to the faucet threads...................or have I completely misunderstood?  I am not familiar with any O-ring, but you may be referring to the cone
washer that is inside the PEX side of the fitting?

Your setup may be different than mine.

I had a hard time getting the cartridges out of my faucet so I replaced it with this American Standard faucet. I like it because it drains without the need of a stopcock as the original faucet has.  Easy install and available from Amazon.

But the goose neck lets me wash my hands without getting water into the bay.

True.
However, When I replace mine. I want to install a faucet like Mr. H's picture and just screw on a bit of hose that can be hung outside. If you do close the door, It wont bend any metallic bits. It could be long enough of a hose to hang from a hook mounted on the top of the bay so you wouldn't need to bend low to wash up.

Bigdog... Do you mean like this?  Actually I quit using the hose since I use it so infrequently and just put a screw-on cap on the faucet to prevent it from leaking in case the handles were accidentally turned.  I always wear disposable gloves when dumping the tanks.

I got rid of the giant faucet and put a black and grey tank flush in place of the old faucet and put a small faucet to the left.  I can put my hose on the faucet when needed with a quick connect connection.

How do you wash your hands after handling the sewer hose?  That's the prime function of my faucet.

Instead of washing your hands, you could wear disposable vinyl gloves?  That way you don't leave a wet spot that the next camper has to stand in when dumping tanks.

We shortened our water faucets to the bare minimum, leaving room for a holding tank inspection port.  I carry a short hose to connect to the faucets when I want to use the water.

I always wear disposable rubber gloves when dumping.  You can get them cheap enough at Harbor Freight.  Remove and throw away the gloves and use hand sanitizer when done. I can still hook up the spray hose or nozzle on my setup if need to, or I can use the campground outdoor faucet or just go inside the coach to wash hands.

That's what I did too. I use that faucet for the dog's water and to fill a bucket once in awhile. It's a quick connect.

And yet another way, I use heavy rubber gloves and keep a spray bottle with a mixture of Spa sanitizer and spray the gloves and also into the Dump Hose bin.

Hey John what is that plugged in on your wet bay, a rodent chaser? And if it is, does it work?

Bob,
No, that is a night light I use in case the long florescent light does not come on when opening the wet bay door.  Since then I have replaced the bay light fixtures with LED and changed out the bay door switches.
