Holding Tank Monitor

Hello Everyone, I am new to foreforums and to the Foretravel Family. I just purchased a 2003 42'  U320 with a 450 HP Cummins Red Top and a 6 Speed Allison Transmission. My Uncle and I have been looking and familiarizing ourselves with my FT and cant seem to find a Holding Tank Monitor. Can someone please guide me in the right direction? Thanks in advance for your help

Dan

It should be on the flip up radio that does the back up monitor.

Front dash monitor to right of steering wheel.  Probably very inaccurate on levels.

Many of us install See Level II.

Dan,

Welcome!  Lots to learn, but we have several good sources of Foretravel specific info.  Here is one:

That flip up monitor is also the rear camera.  Do you have camera feed (scroll through the SRC feeds).

If you have camera, it could be the tank sensor feed is not connected, which would be the simple fix.  If it's the Javalina CPU that provides the signal that's gone bad, it's not supported (and there's bad blood between the OEM and Foretravel).

If there's no image at all and it seems the head unit has failed, a different aftermarket unit would be in order, especially since it's the rear camera display.

TBH, SeeLevel is a much more robust and user-friendly system than the Javalina anyway.  No pain in the butt "fill all and empty all" tank calibration required any time you replace a sensor.  If the procedure to recalibrate a Javalina isn't followed to a T, the readings will likely be wildly inaccurate, at least for the tanks that weren't fully filled and emptied (or is it emptied and then filled?).

Here's the Foretravel part of the schematic from the Media section of the forum in case you don't have it

The selected media item is not currently available.
And the operations manual from same

The selected media item is not currently available.
A common problem with that monitor is a loose ground, but that manifests itself as a head unit that closes when you go over bumps, not having a blank display :-(

Dt78, welcome to the forums.
I replaced the javelina monitor. Already had the seelevel installed by the PO. Put in a amazon backup cam. Easy enough to do. Search the forums for what others have done. Or get the javelina fixed.
