Need Help! Slide Pump Will Not Pump Acts Locked Up or Bad Motor?

So hello everyone,

I'm in need of some help. the slide pump is acting as if I have a bad motor or the pump is locked up, I have voltage going to the motor when the retract / extend button is pushed, but the pump will not run, (roll over) I pulled the pressure gauge fitting off of the discharge of the pump head to see if there was any pressure hydro locking it, 0 PSI observed, without having a internal drawing of the pump and motor I'm kind of lost, I didn't want to start pulling this pump apart if I'm just missing or over looking something.

Thanks for the help. Mike

Mine did this a couple of months ago. Tapped the motor lightly with a hammer  and it ran long enough to get the slide in . Left the slides in the rest of the trip and replaced motor when we got home.

I replaced my motor about 6 months ago.  It is easy to replace and the motor may be available at a local electrical shop.  I was able to get one in a little town in PA called Clearfield.  There are two different size motors for the HWH system both will fit on the HWH system.  If you have one slide you probably have the smaller one and if you have two slides you probably have the bigger one.  Either way try to get the bigger one if you can as it has a longer run time before you must let it cool down or you will burn it up.  I believe for the small one it was around 3-4 minutes max which is like one time in and out before you have to let it cool for 30 minutes.  Two take off the motor you just unhook the electrical connections and then remove the two long bolts that go through the motor and into the HWH pump housing.  To install just do the reverse.  The pump end is sealed so no fluid will come out.

Hey Thanks for the help and ideas, got out the old trusty calibrated hammer and gave it wack it ran for short while but then stopped, decided to pull the motor and take a look being the pump was sealed from the motor, thanks for that info. it was very helpful.

The motor internals didn't look all that bad, cleaned it up brushes, armature etc. put it back together but it still doesn't work so looks like a new motor will be in the works.

Thanks again, Mike

If you just want the step up while you work on it, you can turn the regulator for the step down to zero and then push the step up.  It will stay in place and will actually take a little bit of effort to manually put back down.
