At Xtreme Paint and Graphics in Nac (plus efficiency apartment information)

We arrived at Xtreme Paint and Graphics in Nacogdoches and have moved into their efficiency apartment for the next couple of weeks.

We are having several  fiberglass damage repairs, and multiple paint blemishes fixed.

You may recall when a SUV in front of us in Oregon dumped 2 poorly secured kayaks in the roadway immediately in front of us, which damaged our basement generator radiator door. That is one fix.  "Boating" Accident on I-84 today

That same day after the kayak accident I was distracted and directed from outside, and mistakenly did not look up and directed  Sandy to back into a tree limb in Oregon, putting a hole in the rear cap and bending the ladder.  Fix 2.

We have a crack and delamination in the fiberglass directly under the edge of the bedroom slide - caused by water penetration between the slide-out seal and the fiberglass (fix 3).  Wet floor bedroom slide area - raining
(All owners with slideouts should inspect the seal between fiberglass and slide out bladder on the exterior of the coach at least twice a year to prevent this).

The living room slide has some minor delam at rear edge, which cracked the paint - another fix.

We have some tree branch scratches from a Colorado state park - will probably be lightly sanded and buffed out without need for new clear coat.  We also have a scrape on the other side through several paint colors.

We have clear coat peeling quarter sized on one basement door, and one  spot on the belt line.

We have paint bubbling up multiple places on basement doors.

We want to keep the coach as pristine as the previous owners (Steve and Michelle Cook), so since we are here we are having all paint blemishes repaired along with the fiberglass repairs.

More to follow on the apartment at Xtreme.

The efficiency apartment at Xtreme description:

First the Xtreme web site photos:  Xtreme Paint & Graphics Home  (TV is now flat screen, with Direct TV, and WiFi is also provided)

We were unsure what to expect, and I found no description here on the forums.

There is a walk in closet with a stackable washer drier.  Apartment furnished with sheets, bedding, pillows, towels, etc.  (clean apartment and wash bedding/towels at end of stay, or hire a maid to come in (which is what the last guest did).  Broom and floor sweeper provided as well, plus some cleaning supplies.

Decent shower, good sized bathroom.

Full size fridge, small microwave, medium size toaster oven.  Pots, pans, dishes, utensils all present.  There apparently used to be a hot plate, but it was missing.  We bought a small one burner hot plate, and may donate it when we depart.  The skillets and pots and pans need a heat source method to cook on.

Window air conditioner, and oil filled electric heater/radiator.

No charge for use of apartment when having work done at Xtreme.  Booking in advance of course required to have apartment available. Apartment is attached to relatives house right next door to Xtreme shops.

If we were only here a couple of days we would have stayed in the coach.  With fiberglass work, multiple paint colors, and clear coat, our stay will be around 3 weeks (especially since it also includes Christmas and New Years).

Any questions about the apartment available at Xtreme?

So far, Macklemores (especially on Taco Tuesday), and Auntie Pasta's are our favorites.

We did not care for NacBurger.  And Jalapeno Tree has gone downhill since our last 2 visits in Nacogdoches.

Yes Macklemore's was our favorite, have music some nights. Taco night is amazing value.
We just collected our coach, headlights, striping, roof and a bunch of small stuff. Between that MOT and Infinity and Dr Fog I may need to rethink retirement!!!

We were there over Christmas in 2013... two or three weeks as I recall. We had our camp chef oven with us In the coach and brought it inside the apartment to supplement the half kitchen. We we in a service bay at FOT right after our Xtreme visit and I was asked point point blank by an inner office suit at Foretravel why we had our work done there instead of at Foretravel. I had a couple of reasons, but the one I gave him was that Xtreme had an apartment for use while work was being done there. We were full timing with Moonshadow, my buss cat, and that was important to us. I enjoyed being there and watching the transformation of our coach.

FOT almost always has some nice previously owned coaches in their possession.  If they wanted to emulate the very convenient apartment setup at Xtreme it would be a simple matter.  Just designate one (or more) used coaches as "complementary temporary housing" for the repair/remodel shop customers who choose to stay in NAC while their coach is being serviced.  Seems like a no-brainer to me...

We stayed in the apartment for a few weeks a number of years ago now. It was a blessing to have.  I did leave James and Jennifer a pretty good tip to pay for electric and the cleaning crew they had come in when we left. It was way less than staying at a hotel or driving home and back.

We were at Xtreme last week for the headlight/nose job. Kinfolks, NW corner of 59 and 224, has good breakfasts.

I was there last year for some paint and fiberglass repair. They offered the apartment but I was more comfortable in the coach. I actually spent a couple of nights in the bay.

Overall my experience was awesome. You are definitely in the right place.

The Fredonia Hotel is a nice place to visit. It has been renovated and has 2 restaurants which we enjoyed very much.

One thing to consider if staying in your coach parked in front is the road noise.  Pretty loud and they're on a pretty busy road.  If parked in the back it's not bad.

Guess what we did at Xtreme just before you bought the coach - yep, paint touch up all around :)
