I used denatured alcohol on the Ozite to get the paint overspray off the ceiling, when we removed the tv box. Have also used it to clean around the AC vents and kool O matic. It doesn't seem to bother the Ozite.

Tried it; NADA. It must be the wood finish that's caused the stain is heavy duty! I get the Folex on Fri. and give it a go.  ^.^d

Mike,
I used Goo-Gone on some paint over spray on my ceiling by the tv, then cleaned it with the Folex.  I didn't spray the Goo-Gone directly on the ceiling.  I sprayed it on a rag and rubbed the paint clean.

Thanks, John. Now that I'm looking at the ceiling so much, I've noticed some dis-coloring where Brett changed-out the AC units. This 'project' has sore back & neck written all over it!

Yup, very few replacement A/C ceiling units are exact footprint matches for the OE ones on coaches with non-ducted air.

Probably the best solution I have seen to address this is to remove the ceiling unit and install a thin sheet of fiberglass cut to go just outside the OE units line. Paint the fg to either closely match or nice contrasting color.

A walnut flange wide enough to cover the spot would be awesome. If/when I have to replace my OEM units this is what I would do.

Yes, but one would need to be careful as to thickness of the "spacer".

Mike,
We used this product Folex stain remover.  We had a similar stain by the air conditioner.  It works great!  I bought it at Ace Hardware. I've seen at the Big Box Stores also.  It works like magic.  You can instantly see the stain disappear.

John,

After seeing your post yesterday I went to Lowes and bought a bottle of Folex.  Used it on the ceiling at the a/c vents and on some old water stains on the carpet around the shower.  I was amazed how easily the stains disappeared.  It took a couple of applications on the old water stains but they faded away and the carpet looks good again.  I just sprayed it on, worked it in with my fingers, and then wiped with a terry cloth bath towel.  Works better than any other product I've ever used!

Thanks,

Jerry

After reading John & Carmen Morales post I went and purchased some Folex carpet stain remover.  We have a black stain in the locker over the entrance door,  Nothing would remove it.  Joyce went into the coach and tried it.  I was out side when I heard "Well, I'll Be D....d"!  Stuff actually works.  Stain just disappeared with no rinsing.  Nice to find something that works.

I can't post pics now, but after a Folex application  it's working, SORTA. Is getting lighter, but seems to be spreading the stain outwards!

Mike,
Don't give up on it.  In your case you may have blot and rinse the spot.  I would use a bucket of very hot water and a sponge.  Spray the Folex and let it work.  Don't be afraid to spray it good.  Then go over it with the rung out sponge to rinse off the residue you have.  It will work.

I also use the Folex with my laundry and treat any stains on our clothing.  Works great!
