Drop down power cord-water hose door catch repair

Mt 1996 U295 has the small drop down door for the electric cord, water, etc. The slide-catch has become loose and can fall out. Any ideas? to replace it. I don't like it can't be locked in place while traveling. If it fell out it would cause trap door damage.
Thanks

You can buy that slide bolt at all the home improvement stores. Just measure and get the same size. If the rivets are loose drill and re-rivet it.

Yes, like Craneman suggested. You can find them at any Home Improvement Store. Just drill out the rivets and replace.  Attached is a picture and online link.

Sounds good. I wish it had a positive lock system instead of just sliding. Maybe I can come up with a way to lock it closed once it's closed. One of the members suggested to stick a toothpick in it. That's better than nothing. Thanks again

Another way to do it is with magnets. I only route the sewer hose straight out and am not concerned with closing the compartment door with the sewer hose attached.

I like the second slide idea. Heck, maybe two slides and two magnets!!!!  Just don't want to damage it. This 1996 is really, really nice

Bought a much longer slide, pop riveted and then drilled a hole to secure it closed with a thumb screw. Problem solved.
Thanks for the input
