Replacing original TV in our 1986 Grand Villa

I am posting photo to help get some advice on anyone that has replaced the original TV with a flat screen.. we hope to be able to swivel out of the way or swivel UP to the ceiling..

We are not sure any of the original wood box covered by vinyl is strong enough to take a TV mount... maybe the new TV's are so thin and light it might be ok.

But how did you mount any kind of board that would than support the TV mount.. was it at rear of box or at front of box eliminating any storage use of the box

Thanks in advance for any assistance

We installed a 50" 4K TV in our U300. There was a flat unused wall at the rear of the main salon so it was easy to mount it on the wall and run HDMI and coax back in the tunnel to the TV. That said, I would have loved to take the liquor cabinet across from the sofa out and have a flat screen on a electric riser so you could watch TV right across from you. I've seen this on at least two Foretravels so far. It requires more work but would be out of the way normally and allow normal sight out the window until it was time to watch TV. This is also a natural for surround sound.

Unlike the older CRT TVs that were best viewed from a little distance, 4K TVs can be viewed when right on top of them. At home, I use a 55" 4K as my computer monitor only a foot or so from my keyboard.

$299 buys a huge 4K TV and if  you purchase from Costco, the warranty is doubled.
