Generator remote radiator

Has anyone pulled the blower off of the remote radiator on a 10k Power tech? I don't have a problem, just thinking about pulling it apart to clean things up and wash the radiator.

When I had my steering box rebuilt the shop pulling it out pulled out the radiator for better access.  I had it flushed and pressure tested.  Didn't really pay attention but didn't look difficult.  I wish I would have mounted the capacitor for the fan on the outside but didn't think about it at the time.

My 8k isn't remote. In my area. Having radiator rodded and overhauled. Was $100.

At the time. I changed all hoses, thermostat,  waterpump, fan belt. Verified pully alignment.  All just to have a solid base line for generator cooling system.

Bruce,

I do mine every couple of years.  Here is some pics of what it looks like.
What did you do to your coach today VI

Some of the bolts are a little hard to get to but doable even if you don't have a shop to work in.
If you have never had the fan motor/squirrel cage out you will find the motor capacitor hid once you have the assembly out.  You might think about replacing capacitor while it is in your sight.

Hey Mike thanks you wouldn't have the part number for the capacitor handy?

Bruce,

No I don't have the number. I thought that I might have an old receipt but no luck. I just took the old one down to our local air conditioning parts store and picked up a match.

Bruce , I pulled mine and had to have help to get to the bolts out.  when I got ready to go back I tool a 1/4 X 1" flat bar and drilled holes in it to match the holes in radiator mount through firewall then I welded the bolt head to the bar.  When I went back I just pushed the bar/W bolts through the holes then I could tighten up from back side without having to find someone to hold the bolt.
worked for me

Bruce,

If you end up doing a major rebuild or clean up, please take plenty of pictures and share them.  I, for one, may dive into this area in the near future.

Thanks,

Richard

I pulled mine last summer. I think there is 7 bolts.. easier if you have someone help you backing up the bolts. A couple of the bolts are a little tricky but not bad
