Steering column bellows

So of course you have to lift the steering column out of the way to get the redhead steering gearbox out. I pulled the bellows out from under the piece of Corian that I believe is glued to the plywood under your feet when you're driving. Now I can't of course get it back under without pulling the corian out and regluing it down and I'm not sure I want to do that. Any ideas? There's holes for screws and I thought about a piece of stainless steel on top and then screw it down. Also there is a gap around the column should I fill that with something? Spray foam maybe? You guys have changed out your steering box what were your issues with that bellows if any and how did you deal with it? Thanks

Bob, I just cut the zip tie and pulled the column through the bellows. You can add a zip tie to yours to get rid of the gap. I would just screw it down or do as you said and put a piece of stainless over it.

Bob, I thought I would have that issue as well, but it tucked back in once I fooled with it.  Not perfect, but it is what it is!  You might even consider a piece of wood 1/8 inch think and use a jig saw and make a nice piece to fit around the steering column!  The zip tie works as well.  The only thing I worried about was exhaust smells coming from the generator when running if the wind is blowing!

Bob, mine has a piece of split metal setting on top of the boot and screws to the floor.  I just repainted it before I put it back down
