Dinette

I have almost finished the dinette. I need to put on the table supports for making it into a bed
and install the table locking mechanism.

oldguy, is the DW going to make you sleep on that!!!
A friend ask how many people our coach would sleep --I told him 2 and promptly took out the jackknife couch and jackknife love seat.  If grand kid (only one at a time) goes they can sleep in recliner or on floor
only have grand sons no grand daughters so they need to get tough

When I go skiing both my sons can come with me now, my wife doesn't ski. I can also take 2 friends. I mostly ski tour so I need at
least on partner. My oldest son and I  have been doing road trips for years and now my other son can come with us. I also prefer
dinettes.

I installed this dinette, a new takeout from a Newmar in my FT, it is my belief it was made by Flexsteel.  The frame is steel on the rearmost side for mounting seat belts, and aluminum on the other side, posibly made by Newmar. I used the FT Corian table with the same wall mounted bracket from the Newmar, that allows the table to go up and down, for bed or locks in place as table.  I used the "Dream Dinette" bracket from the Cass Hudson Company as shown on the picture of the label.

First picture is of dinette in FT, second is of family on our adventure, third is is picture of takeout dinette in Newmar, fourth is picture of "Dream  Dinette" bracket label. The picture of our family is us traveling on 2,700 mile trip in 1917 using the new to us dinette.

Yes, ours slept seven of us traveling for two weeks from Eugene, Oregon to LA and back to Portland airport. Was so wonderful, we still all talk about the adventure.

How has it worked with the weight of the corian?  Is it handling it ok?

Tommy, no problem with weight.  It just takes slightly more pressure to lift and lock in place.  The original poster of this thread is using the same manufacturer's "Dream Dinette".

You just need to do your measurements carefully as an eighth of an inch makes a difference of locking in place, or being loose.  Same is true for pre measurements for wall height, etc.

I had to remove mine when I installed my residential refrigerator.  That was easy to do with the dinette bracket.  As you can see from their website, after market sales, are a tiny fraction of their business, so you have to be patient with the time it takes to get your custom made bracket.  Communication over delays, was always excellent.

I took a couple of more pictures, trying to brighten them up. I got the stiffer air spring and it takes
a good tug to get it started up and then it is fine. I had ordered for a 40 inch table as I didn't allow
for that I had to build out from the wall. I needed the space for the wiring that runs under the floor
and the wall bracket for the dream dinette. I had to shorten the locking rod and the track. I was planning when I started to use the old table but it fell when I needed to move the coach and broke.
Just as well as this worked out better. The new counter top is wider so the cushion goes under the
lip and stays in place. The new table is 30 inches wide and 37 inches deep. I also had the shelf top
redone.

I just finished putting in two set of set belts today for the dinette and finished the lock mechanism. Every thing works as it should.
