1992 U280

Has Cummins C8.3 300 HP engine. Need location of secondary Fuel Filter. Replaced Primary. Full of gunk. Thank you. BTW, what is horizontal filter on engine to left of harmonic balancer?

Only horizontally mounted filter is the coolant filter - behind the alternator on driver side of block.

NOTE: There are different coolant filters for different coolant formulations.  Search the term "coolant filter" on Forum for more info.

Fuel filter locations on my '93 U280 (same engine):

1.  Primary fuel filter: mounted on the frame, passenger side rearmost compartment, above the start battery.

2.  Secondary fuel filter: mounted on engine block, passenger side, down low, just above the lift pump.
