Different Coach Another Aqua Hot issue

Preface: My Aqua Hot was serviced by MOT back in September of 2019. December 2019 replacement control box (solid state) from Rudy. Feb. 2020 Minor fuel leak hose clamps. Minor anti freeze seepage at center pump.  This unit ran everyday and night thru cold Wisconsin winter from October 2019 thru April 2020 with pretty much zero issues after control box was replaced. ( Never doing that again, (Brrr)...When unit would fire up a tiny puff of white smoke and that was it for smoke.  IMO Pumps or motor have always been noisy. I would still fire up Aqua Hot every week to week ½ to assure it keeps ticking.
Two weeks ago, I fire it up and she smokes faint white smoke for each time it kicked on...never did that before.
This week, I have electric switch on, as always, and when  I turn on diesel burner switch green light Comes on and stays on steady but unit is quiet as a church mouse. Nothing happening downstairs.  At this point I Still have two green lights up stairs.
Open manual, check fuse F, all good as are all others, check blue thermostat control for continuity – 00.2 All good.  Shut down electric switch and let system cool to see if reset button on thermostat control would reset. It did and unit fired up but will cycle for about 2 minutes then shut down and now green light for diesel burner goes out.
There is an odor of diesel fuel and it appears to have what I guess is some oily fluid (diesel) in tray under combustion burner. I start to look around & Fuel lines are dry but when I put my fingers under combustion chamber air intake my fingers are soaked with fluid which I am assuming is diesel coming from within?
I assume fuel pump or nozzle issue?    Not sure how to test from here?  Guessing disassemble combustion chamber???
Does anyone know if Is it safe to still use the electric portion of the water heater safely without riping apart Aqua Hot for 3-4 weeks?

Hoping Rudy reads this?

Chuck,

It will be just fine to run the unit on electric either with the diesel burner in or out being worked on.

Just a WAG but you could have a fuel pump seal leaking with fuel coming out of the air inlet.

Chuck,  Mike is dead on, running on electric element is just fine.  And, the fuel from the air shutter on the bottom of the burner black housing is coming from the shaft seal of the fuel pump.  Replacing the pump will solve that.

Can send you a pump if you wish.  All the best fixing this.

Yes, Rudy I would appreciate you sending me the pump but I also have a couple other questions pertaining to the unit and may need other items?.  Should I call you or email you?
