Unwinterizing Coach but Toilet has no water -86 Grand Villa

Hello....  we have ' successfully taken our coach out of winterization....refilled water tank and operated water pump... ran good water pressure to all sinks... toilet water does not run to flush.  Flap opens with foot pedals... but no water running ...

Does pump come on when toilet pedal is depressed.  We didnt hear pump running except with sinks open.

Any help ???

Thanks in advance

The pump comes on when the toilet peddle is depressed. Have you pulled up on the lever to see if you got any water. Also
maybe check the water manifold and see if the toilet is turned on.

Someone may have also installed a valve under/behind the toilet.  Who did the winterization?  They may know.

We did... we did not turn OFF the toilet in any way.  Never thought there was a valve there...  we winterized and left all faucets open including emptying tank valves.  We refilled tanks today... closed off water line source from the house and powered up the pump.. full pressure at all sinks but step on pedestal .. nothing... we added water to bowl a few times and used pedal.. all mechanical functions in order but no water filling up bowl....

We have two foot pedals.  A number one pedal and number two pedal.  Levers do not move UP... there is only a down motion...  this is 1986 technology... everything is gravity... LOL

Maniblock ?  Water pump ?  We have power to pump and we have checked water line that splits off of water line running to kitchen sinks from main water tank under bed...

This is a non-electric old school mechanical toilet.. no power needed except the pedal moving trap to open allow toilet to drain...

Acts like a stuck valve. Try tapping the valve with a series of gentle taps while the water pressure is on.

The toilet is supply with water through the maniblock. There's an on-off valve in the maniblock. Check to make sure that the valve is on. The next thing I would do is turn the pump off, disconnect the hose from the toilet, and turn the pump back on make sure that there's water coming out of that line. If you're getting water to the toilet, then the problems in the toilet. My recommendation would be to replace the toilet. They're not that expensive. Things wear out around over time.

They didn't use maniblocks on this coach. When the water pump is on everything is supplied. There are some shut offs on fixtures though. Does this coach have the ability to add water by lifting the pedal on the toilet? My '81 does and the problem might be in that valve.

Yes. It does.  Smaller pedal fills bowl and larger pedal open drain on demand.  No water being supplied with use of first pedal.  I can reach around and unscrew flex water line from back of toilet.  Will do so today and turn on pump to see about pressure.

I can feel a lever / action at back of toilet and water line when pressing pedal.  Might be faulty or stuck and not opening for water to enter the bowl.

In an emergency.  We can use water from bathroom sink to fill bowl to flush.

Thanks to all.  These older mechanical coaches are simple is stupid sometimes.  Not sure I want to upgrade to fancy 2000year coaches.  LOL

I wa able to remove water line from back of toilet.  Working blind and wrapping both arms around toilet remind me of hangover mornings in college.    Turned on pump and good pressure.  But there appears to be a lever action when step on pedal to fill up bowl.  No water to bowl.  Would hate to pull up carpet and remove toilet to see / work on this lever    But will see what advice you all give.  Thanks.

Light percussion on the valve while pushing the fill pedal would be my next step.

Thanks for the great photo.  Unfortunately there would a lot of work to remove ( original) carpet on toilet pedestal and remove... we are trying to reach around and feel our way to the mechanics.  I have attached a photo of what i can feel/see

The threaded section in your photo is inbound water from pump ? And smaller line goes to toilet bowl??  I dont feel two lines ..

You don't have to remove the carpet to remove the toilet. If it is the aqua magic galaxy toilet there is one nut in front and one in the rear to remove. I think a 1/2 inch wrench. The front is accessed by pushing down the foot pedal and you have to reach around from the back side for the rear nut. A mirror is your friend.

What Redtractor said with additional information, to get to the rear nut you have to pop the round plastic cap on the top of the toilet after lifting the seat. Then with a 1/2 inch deapwell socket on the end of a foot long extension reach down in there and undo the nut.

Need confirmation for the manufacturer of the 86 GV toilet.    It appears the water valve or module at back of toilet has split and leaks water.  We added a water shut off in the inbound line but need to know manufacturer of the toilet or a repair technique for this issue.

I have added two photos of our internet search for possible replacements.

See those two black headed hex screws on the side of your pump valve? Unscrew them using either a flat bladed screwdriver or a hex socket. The valve body will come off the toilet and you can then determine if the screen is plugged or clear. The outlet hose from that valve goes around to the back of the toilet and plugs into a hole. There might still be an anti-syphon valve back there. Pull it straight out and discard it. Plug your supply hose direct into the hole. It will stay.
Apparently you are missing the cosmetic plastic cover that is held on by those two screws, in addition to them also holding the valve in place.
How do I know all this? Just had our toilet completely apart a week or so ago.
You probably have a Dometic Sealand model 510 toilet.
To answer one of your questions: Yes the 12V incoach water pump MUST be turned on unless you are hooked up to a pressurized water supply.
