Disassembly question

I have this carpet covered tunnel in the bathroom along the wall. I'm assuming that it has wires, pipes maybe running through it. Does anybody know what I need to do to get it open to run a new wire through it. How is the carpet held down and does the box just unscrew once I get the carpet off. Any help is greatly appreciated

What wire are you running?  I have the same year FT and same tunnel in the toilet area but I used the overhead conduit for bedroom TV and backup camera.

The carpet is probably stapled to a 2sided plywood tunnel. I think you should be able to pull the carpet off and then the tunnel comes apart with screws.  Depending on how many staples they used, it may tear the carpet some when you remove it.

On mine, it holds wiring and heating ducts.

I replaced the plywood with a cherry tunnel to match the cabinets when we took out the carpet and installed tile.  Much easier for future access.  I've had it open a couple of times since.

The trick is to find access to either end of that chase.  When I installed the shower hot water return system, I ran wires and a pex pipe through a similar chase without disassembling it.  I fed the wires and pipe from under the lower access panel behind the head (laundry hamper?), under the shower pan, and pulled them from behind the bedroom cabinet after unscrewing the cover panels in the makeup desk.  Sorry no pix.  Woody.

I want to tap the 110 under the sink and run a wire Thru that chase to the wall behind the table across from the refrigerator. I tried to run a fish tape thru but it wouldn't push thru
