Strange Smartwheel Behavior

I've recently noticed strange behavior when running on cruise control:

1.  Hit the air horn and cruise turns off
2.  Hit resume to re-engage cruise and wipers start
3.  Hit resume on cruise and cruise turns off

You get the idea...does smartwheel need replacing?

Thanks

A possibility is the ground is missing and the buttons are grounding to the different components.

There's a snake ribbon cable in there. Find out which smartwheel is used and it's easy to replace.

Yes, in fact I do.  Try not to indulge when driving...have to start checking bottle levels!

We had similar issues, turn on wipers and sometimes horn would honk, or sometimes, the wipers would start by themselves.  Like Craneman stated above, check your grounds.  I pulled everything apart, checked all the connections, tightened everything back up and made sure all ground connections were clean and tight.  Haven't had any issues since, and it's been over a year.
