Windshield gasket replacement

Lost my passenger side glass. Insurance will pay for glass but not gasket which needs to be replaced as it is a one piece item. Is this normal???  Also glass company said may break the other side when removing to replace one piece gasket and that will be on me

Had our driver side replaced, gasket in good shape, make sure yours is bad,if it's pliable it's still good.

Just had my RH windshield replaced gasket was just fine. Where it me I'd leave it alone as long as it was plyable and not cracked

That seems to be standard policy, including Foretravel.  If it ain't broke don't fix it line of thought.

Has your glass company replaced many coach windshields, sounds like it's all in their favor if they screw up. If the gasket is pliable MOT reuses and does NOT touch the good windshield.
I would check around and find a company that knows what they are doing, MOT never said to me if we break the other windshield, it's on your dime!

We had our passenger-side windshield replaced a few years ago. The glass company simply replaced the glass on that side and didn't touch the driver-side glass. No new gasket was required.

A mobile glass place In Virginia broke the other side on our kids coach when replacing the windshield.  Our glass place at home and MOT said they've never had that happen.  Also we've never had them tell us the gasket needed replaced when we've had a windshield done.

When Progressive replaced both my windshields last year, they would NOT pay for a new gasket...came out of my pocket.
