Battery bay temperature in 20º weather

Didn't want to revive an old thread.  I'm sitting at 9600' in the snow and the low temps have been in the low 20's with high hitting 30ºF for the last 3 days.  I think it got to 33º today before it started snowing again.  I was curious how low the temperature would get in the battery bay with my 3 Battleborns.  I have the inverter/charger floating them and with the aquahot in the middle compartment running on electric and running the diesel burner when needed according to my temp. gauge, and the basement thermostat turned up to max.  I have a remote thermometer in the battery bay and it hasn't gotten below 60ºF.
I'm pleased with the temp. and so far we've made 3 snowmen, 1 snow angel, watched deer cruise past, and a bear.

I stayed in Central and Northern Wisconsin lthis past winter season and have remote thermometers in all my bays. Temps dipped to -15 to -20 below zero & I too was impressed how the temps down below maintained above freezing.  Of course it was with a little extra care and added insulation. My aquahot deserves a trophy for performing like a champ constantly running from October Thur March. However, I will not be repeating that adventure anytime soon...if ever again. LOL!

Forest, your basement config is bout the same as mine. I have temperature monitoring in the battery bay, then main bay and both sides of the wet bay.  We have been in the low 30s and high 20s most nights for the past two weeks.  Lowest temperature in the wet bay on the floor next to the water pump has been 46°.  Lowest temp in the battery bay has been 49°, usually higher.  I have the AH heat exchangers  (2) in the wet bay set to come on at 32°.  They have never come on.

I am using power from the batteries and charging them at the same time.

If you have a Victron BMV 702 or 712 with a temperature sensor it will show the temperature at the positive post on your battery where it is attached.

I have an 8 channel Ambient Air wireless temperature monitor.  You can set it for low temperature alarms. I also have a sensor in the freezer and refrigerator.

This is a fancier version of the one I but about the same price when you add in the sensors.
